چکیده

Chi and Mendel [I], [9] analyzed the performance of the minimum-variance deconvolution (MVD). In this correspondence, a further analysis of the performance of the MVD filter is presented. We show that the MVD filter performs like an inverse filter and a whitening filter as SNR + 00, and like a matched filter as SNR + 0. The estimation error e (k) of the MVD filter is colored noise, but it becomes white when SNR + 0. This analysis also connects the error power spectral density of the MVD filter with the spectrum of the causal prediction error filter.

A Novel Frequency Domain Linearly Constrained Minimum Variance Filter for Speech Enhancement

A reliable speech enhancement method is important for speech applications as a pre-processing step to improve their overall performance. In this paper, we propose a novel frequency domain method for single channel speech enhancement. Conventional frequency domain methods usually neglect the correlation between neighboring time-frequency components of the signals. In the proposed method, we take...

Determination of Fiber Direction in High Angular Resolution Diffusion Images using Spherical Harmonics Functions and Wiener Filter

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) MRI is a noninvasive imaging method of the cerebral tissues whose fibers directions are not evaluated correctly in the regions of the crossing fibers. For the same reason the high angular resolution diffusion images (HARDI) are used for estimation of the fiber direction in each voxel. One of the main methods to specify the direction of fibers is usage of the spher...

A New Method for Multisensor Data Fusion Based on Wavelet Transform in a Chemical Plant

This paper presents a new multi-sensor data fusion method based on the combination of wavelet transform (WT) and extended Kalman filter (EKF). Input data are first filtered by a wavelet transform via Daubechies wavelet “db4” functions and the filtered data are then fused based on variance weights in terms of minimum mean square error. The fused data are finally treated by extended Kalman filter...

Covariance Analysis of a vector tracking GPS receiver based on MMSE multiuser Detection

In high dynamic conditions, using vector tracking loops instead of scalar tracking loops in GPS receivers is proved as an efficient method to compensate the performance. The Minimum Mean Squared Error detector as a multiuser detector is applied in the vector tracking loop for more reliability and efficiency. The Kalman filter does the two tasks of tracking and extracting the navigation data aft...

Blind Separation of Uncorrelated Sources

A well-known fact in blind deconvolution is that if the unknown source signal is white (temporally) and the unknown channel filter is minimum phase, it is possible to determine the inverse filter (equalizer) by evaluating simply the power spectral density (PSD) of the received signal. For blind source separation, however, a similar special case, equivalent to the situation in blind deconvolutio...
